A little about the chair experience

Chicago Cornrows is my full-time passion — designs, symmetry, and edges that stay laid for weeks. I'm Marcus. Ten years in the South Loop, evening appointments for 9-to-5ers, and a reputation for intricate feed-in patterns that don't sacrifice your hairline. I braid adults and kids; parents appreciate that I explain maintenance in plain language and never book back-to-back kids if everyone's tired. Studio details Street parking after 6pm is usually easy. The suite is on the second floor — elevator access. Bring a hoodie for long sessions; the A/C works hard in summer. I post flash design slots on my page when I have a cancellation — grab them fast. First-time clients: send two inspo pics and your typical wash routine so I can tell you if a style is realistic for your hair type.

Knotless box braids (medium)

Popular

Classic knotless install to waist length with medium density. Includes consultation on parting and tension; hair can be provided or you can bring pre-stretched bundles (I'll send a brand list after booking). Plan for a full day — we take a lunch break.

Straight-back or custom designs with feed-in technique for a natural, flat lay. Send inspo pics in Messages — simple lines, hearts, and tribal patterns welcome. Price varies slightly for complex designs; I'll confirm before your appointment.

Deposits, notice windows, rescheduling & no-shows

Deposits

  • Your deposit holds your appointment time and applies toward your total service cost.

Cancellations

  • Cancel at least 48 hours before your appointment to keep your deposit (when your stylist offers refundable deposits).
  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice forfeit the deposit.

Rescheduling

  • Reschedule with at least 24 hours notice, subject to availability.
  • Repeated reschedules may require a new deposit.

No-shows

  • Missed Appointments without notice may be charged the full service balance and may affect future booking eligibility.

Arrival, hair prep, lateness & communication

Before You Arrive

  • Arrive on time with clean, blow-dried hair unless your service includes a wash.
  • Come with hair de-tangled and free of heavy oils or edge control.

During your visit

  • Late arrivals may shorten your service time without a price adjustment.
  • Tell your stylist about scalp sensitivities, allergies, or recent chemical treatments before your appointment starts.

After you book

  • Send reference photos and inspo through Messages so your stylist can plan your look.
  • Cancel or reschedule from My Bookings as early as possible if your plans change.
